As many of you know, on Nov. 3 I will be running the NYC Marathon, my fourth time running NYC and my eighth marathon overall. As part of this, and together with my 40th birthday (!), I am raising money for an important cause, Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC. As many of you know, I served as a mentor with BBBS for eight years. When I first met my little brother Shateek, he was a shy 10-year-old kid who had recently been placed in the NYC foster care system. Over time, I have seen him grow into a thoughtful, hard-working young man, and we have remained good friends since he graduated out of the program (he's now 23 years old).
Any contribution, big or small, helps Big Brothers Big Sisters provide New York's underserved children with caring adult mentors who work to expand their horizons and enrich their futures. I greatly appreciate any support that you can give BBBS, and will keep you posted on my progress.
