Race for the Kids is an annual Fall charity event hosted by Big
Brothers Big Sisters of NYC now in our 12th year. This year’s event
will once again be held in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park on September 17th,
2016 at 9:00am, where we expect over 4,000 attendees. We’re proud to also
include microchip timing for avid runners in NYC interested in
5k timed events and who may also want to support our youth mentoring mission.
The Race is one of our largest fundraising events and it is filled with
family friendly activities thanks to our presenting sponsor Nickelodeon. After
the race we invite all runners to bring their families and matches to enjoy the
festivities of Nickelodeon’s Worldwide Day of Play.
Our goal this year is to raise $500,000 that will go towards our year
round efforts to provide mentoring services to children throughout New York
City.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC is the nation’s oldest and NYC’s
largest mentoring organization now celebrating over 110 years of service.
