In 2001, Lindsay Morehouse, age 24, was working as an
equity Morehouse Picture 1research associate at Keefe, Bruyette and
Woods,
the investment banking firm.

She was thrilled to be accepted as a Big Sister in the BBBS-NY mentoring program in late August and was scheduled to have her first meeting with her Little Sister on September 15. Tragically, she was killed in the attack on the World Trade Center on September 11.

Her grieving parents, Ted Morehouse and Kathy and Dale Maycen, searched for a way to honor her memory.
Because  of Lindsay’s Morehouse Picture 2deep commitment to BBBS-NYC,
they decided
to establish The Lindsay Morehouse Memorial College Scholarship Fund.

They wished to honor her memory by reaching out to young people in the program, helping them pursue a college education. Lindsay loved her college experience and knew it was a huge factor in helping her achieve her dreams. She would be so proud of the BBBS students who have earned these college scholarships over the past 6 years.

Lindsay was a rare individual with persistence and Morehouse Picture 3
determination to succeed in every aspect of her life.
She attended Greenwich Academy (CT), The Benjamin
School (FL), St. Paul’s School (NH) and Williams
College (MA).

In high school, she excelled in soccer, was captain of
the tennis team, received athletic awards and graduated summa cum laude. At Williams College, she majored in economics and continued her successful tennis career.
She was named an All-American in doubles, was voted co-captain of the team and was honored with the Torrance Hunt Tennis Award.

Lindsay began her business career as an analyst for the Windsor Group in Middleburg, VA. She moved to Manhattan in the spring of 2001 for the opportunity to work on Wall Street.

Her legacy will live on through all of us who knew her and those who will benefit from the Lindsay Morehouse Memorial College Scholarship Fund.
